Woodstock Covered Bridge

The Woodstock Middle Covered Bridge in Vermont is notable as the first authentically wooden covered bridge built in New Hampshire or Vermont since 1895. It replaced an iron bridge condemned in 1966. The bridge is unique for its use of over 1,400 wooden trunnels (wooden pegs) to hold the timbers together, eschewing structural steel.
